When it comes to cancer, a late or incorrect diagnosis can mean the difference between life and death.
Pakistan has a lack of reliable medical facilities which puts a strain on people getting medical tests done. Often, patients living outside of larger cities are forced to travel. This is inconvenient and difficult for those who can’t afford to or those who are too poorly.
Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital (SKMCH) runs 176 Laboratory Collection Centres across 80 cities nationwide. These centres are an integral part of our service and allow us to help patients living in hard to reach areas. Furthermore, as a reliable name in medical care, people prefer to get their tests done with us. Through our Collection Centres, they’re able to do so without having to travel to our hospital or clinics.
The SKCMH Collection Centres also conduct tests which are not cancer related for paying patients. The income generated from our Collection Centres help sustain our aid projects. It allows us to continue providing free cancer care to poor patients at SKMCH, irrespective of fluctuating donation funds.
