IKCA- Donate Zakat-al-Fitr Easily this Ramadan with IKCA

‘Ramadan is like the rain, it nourishes the seeds of good deeds.’

(Anon).

Not only is Ramadan a lovely time to give back, so is the period afterwards. Otherwise known as Fitrana or Fitra, Zakat-al-Fitr refers to the charity paid when the month of fasting comes to an end.

After all, the end of Ramadan isn’t the end of a journey, but merely a beginning, after which you make or break many habits.

Zakat al-Fitr is a compulsory charity which paid by every Muslim, including adults and children, which is paid as early as possible. This is so that food can be distributed to the poor in time for Eid. Choose our cancer charity and Fitrana is just £5 per person.

Meanwhile, Fidyah is valid for those who are not able to fast at all. Those who cannot fast during Ramadan must have a valid reason, such as a long-term illness, and must make up for afterwards by paying Fidyah to provide two average meals to those who need it.

If you’re making a donation in the UK, with gift aid, you can make a donation worth £6.50 at no extra cost to you.
