Meet our Supporters: Mabeen Ali
‘I can assure you all funds are being utilised to their full potential. The standards are world-class. Coming here has restored my faith in the goodness of humanity.’
Our lucky draw winner, Mabeen Ali had the opportunity to visit our Lahore hospital for a second time. Once again, she was blown away by the world-class standards of care we provide for all our patients. Here’s what she had to say when we caught up with her after her visit.
It’s a pleasure to talk to you, Mabeen. You’ve been an IKCA supporter for many years, so we were thrilled you were our lucky draw prize winner.
“I was very excited too. I would like to take this opportunity to say a few words regarding my visit to Shaukat Khanum, Lahore. Firstly, a big thank you to Arham, who took me on a tour of the hospital. She took me to all the departments and explained the procedure for patients.”
What was the highlight of the visit?
“I was very impressed by the standards and facilities. But what touched me the most was the young cancer patients. We cannot imagine the suffering that they are going through, but thanks to the care at this hospital, there were smiles on their faces.”
This was your second visit. Can you tell us a little about your first visit?
“I was lucky enough to visit this hospital back in 2003 with my late father, who too was a supporter when I had the chance to meet Mr Imran Khan himself! He told me that it seemed like an impossible mission before the hospital was built and once completed, there were questions about how it would run. But Alhamdulillah, today it has expanded and opened up in other areas of Pakistan too.”
That was almost twenty years ago! So, you’ve been able to see how your support and the support of other donors have made a real difference.
“Absolutely! 28 years of success has been made possible by the generosity of those who have supported. All donations are being used in the best possible way. I can assure you all funds are being utilised to their full potential. The standards are world-class.”
Do you have a message for other donors?
“We must continue to support this great cause. May I wholeheartedly request everyone to donate generously towards this humble cause? Giving someone the chance for treatment is the greatest deed, which will be rewarded in this world and the next.”
Thank you, Mabeen, for your lifelong support. Any last words?
“Coming here has restored my faith in the goodness of humanity. Insha’Allah, I will be supporting IKCA until my last breath.”
