Meet Our Supporters: Pak UK Fusion Society
‘Our partnership with IKCA is something that Pak UK Fusion Society is proud of. It’s a cause all our members are determined to support.’ – Rubina Khan
Pak UK Fusion Society held a fundraising dinner in support of Imran Khan Cancer Appeal. They raised £100,000! We chatted to Chairperson, Rubina Khan to find out more.
Thank you for your time, Rubina. Please tell us a little about Pak UK Fusion Society?
“Pak UK Fusion Society was first established in November 2018. We are based in Birmingham, United Kingdom. We work on a number of charitable causes and deliver projects both within the UK and in Pakistan.”
What are the aims of your society?
“Our main aim is to make a difference in the lives of those who are most vulnerable and in need of basic support, whether that be healthcare, food, education or basic essentials such as clean water.”
That’s wonderful. We’re thrilled that you chose to raise funds for our needy patients. You’ve helped to give them free treatment and most importantly hope.
“Our partnership with IKCA is something that Pak UK Fusion Society is proud of as it is a cause that all our members are determined to support. We were pleased to play a part in organising a successful charity fundraising dinner in aid of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital.”
It looks like everyone had a great evening. Tell us a little about the event.
“The evening was brought together by a number of partners who supported the event through sponsorships and ticket sales. An outstanding amount of over £100,000 was raised at the fundraising dinner. The generosity of friends and supporters of Pak UK was incredible. And I’d like to send out a special thank you to Zahid Bhatti from UK CAB, based in Birmingham, who was one of the key people who helped us organise the event.”
Thank you, Pak UK Fusion Society! Cancer treatment is costly and unfortunately out of reach for the majority of people in Pakistan. The £100,000 you’ve raised will go a long way in helping those who cannot afford life-saving treatment.
