Meet Our Supporters: Tasneem Habib

Tasneem Habib is one of our greatest long-time supporters. She’s jumped out of planes and climbed mountains to raise funds for our patients at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital. On the 27th of June, she visited Bradford Grammar School for Career Day.

Bradford Grammar School’s Career Day is an annual event. It’s designed to expose students aged 14 and 15 to different occupations in an effort to help them decide on their future careers. Speakers at the event also discussed things like personal wellbeing and giving back to society.

Tasneem, or Taz as she’s known to us at Imran Khan Cancer Appeal, spoke to the students about career opportunities in science, and more specifically, in the pharmaceutical industry. She also told students about her personal passion to drive better care and support for cancer patients.

As the Global Oncology Diagnostics Director at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, Taz works tirelessly to deliver the latest oncology therapies to patients around the world. “This is the most rewarding job I have ever had,” Taz told the students without hesitation, “and I enjoy every minute of it!”

A dedicated Imran Khan Cancer Appeal fundraiser, Taz has raised thousands of pounds over the years for poor patients in Pakistan. She explained how giving back to a worthy charity is a key focus in her life and helps her fulfil her Islamic duty of helping others.

“Giving back in both your career and your personal life fulfils you,” she said and then went on to encourage the students to get involved in community work assisting organisations like Imran Khan Cancer Appeal.
