“Over the years, our hospital has continued to set the standards of equality and merit in providing cancer care services to the people of Pakistan.”
I have worked with Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital (SKMCH) for almost 10 years, now. I’m a Pathologist, and also Head of the Pathology Department here.
Over the years, our hospital has continued to set the standards of equality and merit in providing cancer care services to the people of Pakistan. And we’ve done so while maintaining international standards. Many of us still feel that it’s a miracle that this hospital is providing free cancer treatment to the vast majority of its patients. Particularly because it’s the most costly disease to treat. I believe there are two things which have kept this mission intact. The first is the vision and philosophy which drives Imran Khan Cancer Appeal (IKCA). A vision supported by all of IKCA’s generous donors. And the second is the dedication of our team at the hospital. All of SKMCH’s employees and management staff have worked hard to preserve our values and mission throughout the years. I’m so happy to be part of it.
