“Over the course of 15 years, the P.A.C.E members and all their generous supporters have raise a grand total of £78,000.”
Parveen’s Annual Cancer Event (P.A.C.E) was launched in 2002, by Parveen Sheikh, who was undergoing cancer treatment at the time. It was her way of giving back, both here at home (through Scannappeal) and overseas in Pakistan (through the Imran Khan Cancer Appeal).
Parveen left her family and friends with a beautiful legacy when she passed away in 2009. Since then, P.A.C.E has been working to fight the good fight against cancer, particularly through their annual flagship event: a five-mile sponsored walk and their summer BBQ.
Over the course of 15 years, the P.A.C.E members and all their generous supporters have raise a grand total of £78,000. Half of these funds have gone towards the treatment of poor cancer patients in Pakistan at the Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospitals. The other half have gone to Scannappeal – a local charity of the Buckinghamshire healthcare trust, which raises funds for medical equipment used for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients.
This year’s P.A.C.E events are helping to raise funds for Scannappeal’s digital breast screening appeal, as well as free cancer care for the underprivileged at Shaukat Khanum Hospitals.
IKCA is proud to work with pace, and we couldn’t be more grateful to its members. They are: Raza, Sabah, Zeenat and Shahzad Sheikh; Shemila, Safeena and Bilaal Mirza; Raheela Jawad and Rahat Butt. Thank you for fighting cancer with us!
